You know it’s a fun week when names like Eddie Royal, Knowshon Moreno and James Starks are fantasy studs and the year is NOT somewhere between 2008-2011. About the only thing missing was a rejuvenated Peyton Hillis (Tampa Bay?) rumbling for 100 yards to complete the picture.
Of course, any time there are surprise performers it gives the experts a chance to hit it big (or whiff) on their weekly predictions. Which pundits were on the mark with their advice? Let’s take a look at the top 10 experts for the week (out of 133 total)…

Congrats to Dave Richard (CBS Sports) for earning top accuracy honors in week 2. Richard finished in the top 5 at both the QB and RB positions en route to the #1 Overall rating. Most experts were concerned about Marshawn Lynch’s tough matchup vs. the 49ers. Lynch slid down to unfamiliar territory as the consensus RB #13 as a result. Richard, meanwhile, liked Lynch (his 4th rated RB) as much as any of the 133 experts we monitored. Lynch rewarded that faith by netting 135 total yards and 3 TDs. That was good enough to make him week 2’s top RB and it earned Richard a big hit. Richard also gained points by rating rookie stud, Giovani Bernard (2 TDs), above 95% of experts. Meanwhile, he earned some ‘gutsy’ credit by slotting Adrian Peterson (just 8.7 standard fantasy points) below all but 1 fantasy expert. And from a QB standpoint, it didn’t hurt Richard’s cause that he was one of the experts high on Michael Vick (his QB #4) and low on Tom Brady (his QB #10). Richard was also one of a small group of experts to rate 49ers’ QB, Colin Kaepernick, outside of his top 12 QBs. That certainly proved to be a good call given that Kaepernick threw 3 INTs with no TDs to show for it.
