6 Must Starts for Week 6

Spiller is limping, faces a stout Cinci D, and has Thad Lewis at QB… but is he a dirt cheap high upside play?

First, congrats to DippyDough for winning our Beat the Experts Challenge last week. Dippy turned his $11 entry into $1,500 by coming in first place ($1,000) and being one of two “Joes” to beat all the Pros ($1,000 beat the experts bonus pool). If Dippy can do it, so can you! Congrats also goes out to the 100 folks that won cash prizes last week.

In case you missed it, we recently launched some new salary cap tools to help you win at daily fantasy games. Be sure to check out our new Salary Cap Highlights report for DraftStreet, FanDuel and DraftKings. The report highlights the most undervalued players and who we believe will score the most fantasy points, based on our Expert Consensus. We also asked our Top Daily Fantasy Experts from last week to each give us their one “Must Start” of the week for our Beat the Expert’s Challenge and DraftStreet’s $1,000,000 DFFC (that’s not a typo – first place prize is $1 million dollars!). Here’s who the top salary cap experts love this week…

Name one player you will definitely have in your DraftStreet Salary Cap lineup this week. Why?

C.J. SPILLER (RB, BUF) – $6,430
“There is risk given his injury situation, but C.J. Spiller at just $6,430 is too good to pass up. Spiller had 10 days to heal up for Week 6 after a game where he rushed for 66 yards and scored on just eight carries. The Bills are starting Thad Lewis, and that means plenty more opportunities for Spiller in the run and check-down game. Sure, the Bengals defense and Spiller’s injury might concern you, but find me another player with as much upside for such a discounted price. You can’t.”
Jake Ciely, Football.com

MARLON BROWN (WR, BAL) – $3,596
“Marlon Brown missed last week with a thigh injury, but was good for a TD in three of four games earlier this season. Jacoby Jones will likely return this week as well, but the Ravens are in desperate need of pass catchers and there will be no shortage of targets to go around in a great matchup with the Packers. The real reason to like Brown is his price tag. He wont have to catch many passes to live up to his $3,596 billing.”
Josh Moore, 4for4.com

JOE FLACCO (QB, BAL) – $10,113
“Flacco is ranked as the 20th QB this week according to Draftstreet prices, but I have him 9th in my QB rankings. He got off to a decent start with 18 points against the Broncos, but he has struggled the last four weeks with tough matchups against teams that are allowing just 13.9 fantasy points per week to quarterbacks (league average is 15.8). This week he’ll have a much easier matchup against the Packers who allow 19.8 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and who are the 3rd worst pass defense in the league according to Football Outsiders. The Ravens pass defense is average to slightly below average, so I expect Rodgers and the Packers to score a lot of points and Flacco throwing a lot to keep up.”
Brett Talley, The Fantasy Fix

NY JETS DST – $4,800
“Defenses are expensive this week, and it is nice to find a Defense that can give you good production for your buck. The Jets defense will look to put on a show at home against Big Ben and the Turnover Pittsburgh Steelers. Somehow the Jets find themselves with a winning record. If you do not use them in Daily Fantasy, definitely use them in Real Fantasy if your team is struggling at the position.”
Muntradamus, BeastDome

ARIAN FOSTER (RB, HOU) – $13,215
“Arian Foster is going to be a staple in my lineups for Week 6. He’s not a value play in the typical sense, given that he’s very much on the radar and will cost you north of $13k to acquire, but he’s a good bet to deliver profit on that price. Early in the season, Foster owners found themselves frustrated by his timeshare with Ben Tate but as the campaign has moved along things are tilting heavily in Foster’s favor as his health and conditioning have improved. Over the past two weeks he’s played 113 snaps to Tate’s 29 and out-touched him with a whopping 58 to 15, gaining 289 yards. A virtual lock for 20+ touches against a Rams defense giving up the third most FPPG to opposing RBs (6 TDs so far) Foster could be Week 6’s top scorer.”
Jon Collins, Fantasy Sports LR

JAMAAL CHARLES (RB, KC) – $15,708
A starting running back for an Andy Reid offense is fantasy gold. A date with the exploitable Oakland defense only makes his prospects even better this week. Don’t be fooled by Oakland’s defensive success against the run so far. Games again San Diego and Jacksonville have boosted those stats. Charles will be in for a monster day this week.
