It is certainly coming down to the wire for many of you and it’s no longer about planning for an entire season. Running Back

Alfred Morris (WAS at NYG)
Consensus: RB #24
Expert’s Rank: RB #17
Accuracy: #9 (out of 127)

“The Giants run defense has been among the worst in the league over the past two months, which adds some appeal to Alfred Morris this Sunday. Morris has handled at least 80 percent of Washington’s carries in three consecutive games and is guaranteed a massive role with Roy Helu likely out. A lack of receptions has hurt Morris’ fantasy value in the past, but he’s already up to 23 targets on the year after totaling 28 during his first two NFL seasons. With Colt McCoy under center, the Redskins will try to rely heavily on their running game. Likely to eclipse 20 touches and with a decent shot at a touchdown, Morris makes for a back-end RB1.”

Rashad Jennings (NYG vs. WAS)
Consensus: RB #21
Expert’s Rank: RB #11
Accuracy: #12 (out of 127)

“The matchup isn’t great for Rashad Jennings on Sunday, but with a clean bill of health this week, he should be able to produce a nice stat line. Rookie Andre Williams performed admirably with Jennings hobbled in Week 14, but New York’s top back will likely handle his regular workload this week against Washington. Prior to Week 14, Jennings received an average of 19.3 carries in his starts this season so he should be a useful fantasy back again this week with his ankle on the mend.”
Jeff Brubach (The Fake Football)

Chris Ivory (NYJ at TEN)
Consensus: RB #24
Expert’s Rank: RB #17
Accuracy: #13 (out of 127)

“One guy I am starting this week is Chris Ivory. It’s the holiday season and the Tennessee Titans have been in a giving mood lately. Over the past five weeks, they have allowed opposing RBs to rush for 150 yards and a TD per game. For the entire season, RBs are averaging 132 yards and over a TD per game. The Jets want/must run the ball to be effective, just look at the Miami game two weeks ago. I can see a similar game plan in effect and Chris Ivory going for 100 plus yards and a score or 2. He will approach RB1 status.”
Ken Zalis (Pressbox)

LeGarrette Blount (NE vs. MIA)
Consensus: RB #21
Expert’s Rank: RB #13
Accuracy: #14 (out of 127)

“It’s difficult to confidently stand behind a Bill Belichick-employed rusher, but since rejoining the Patriots Blount has resumed the role of lead back, one that he excelled in last December. He’s carried the ball 42 times for 202 yards (4.8 YPA) and 2 scores since rejoining the Patriots, relegating Shane Vereen to third down work and Jonas Gray to… hating himself for over-sleeping. The Dolphins defense has been the victim of some huge running back production of late, allowing 661 rushing yards over the past 3 games. Miami’s pass rush gave the Patriots fits during the second half of their first meeting back in September, and leaning heavily on Blount is one way to subdue Cameron Wake and company.”
Ryan Noonan (The Fantasy Fix)

Wide Receiver

Golden Tate (DET vs. MIN)
Consensus: WR #23
Expert’s Rank: WR #13
Accuracy: #2 (out of 127)

“With Calvin Johnson back and better than ever the past 2 weeks, I feel Tate is in a fantastic spot as he will surely see single coverage all game. His rank may have dipped due to his lack of TDs recently, but there is some luck involved in that so he should bounce back this week and is a good bet to find the end zone to go along with a high yardage total.”
Sean Koerner (Bloomberg Sports)

Steve Smith Sr. (BAL vs. JAC)
Consensus: WR #26
Expert’s Rank: WR #23
Accuracy: #1 (out of 127)

“As of Thursday, Torrey Smith is still missing practice due to a knee injury that kept him out most of Week 14. With Torrey sidelined, Steve Sr. racked up 70 yards and a touchdown on seven catches in a bad matchup against the Dolphins. This week, his matchup isn’t great either — Jacksonville is a surprising #3 versus wide receivers in our strength of schedule metric and adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA), but with Torrey sidelined or limited, Smith has no choice but to produce. According to the sports books, the Ravens are expected to score 29.5 points, and as the team’s top receiving threat, Smith has a good chance to find the end zone.”
John Paulsen (4for4)

Tight End

Mychal-Rivera-55x75Mychal Rivera (OAK at KC)
Consensus: TE #17
Expert’s Rank: TE #8
Accuracy: #12 (out of 127)

“Mychal Rivera is a bit under the radar at the tight end position, but his target totals have been encouraging over the second half of the season. Rivera has averaged 7.4 targets per game over his last seven games and with the tight end position extremely volatile in recent weeks, Rivera is a relatively safe option for fantasy teams in need of help this week.”
Jeff Brubach (The Fake Football)

Quarterback

Eli Manning (NYG vs. WAS)
Consensus: QB #9
Expert’s Rank: QB #6
Accuracy: #14 (out of 127)

“Backing Eli is simple this week. The Redskins are AWFUL in the back half and rank dead last in pass defense. There is no answer defensively for Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants are almost force feeding him the ball of late. The Giants defense is porous as well so we can expect this game to stay close, meaning Eli Manning is likely to throw for all 4 quarters. There are question marks in the Giants backfield this week, and while the Redskins are terrible against the pass, they’re slightly above average against the run.”
Ryan Noonan (The Fantasy Fix)

Johnny Manziel (CLE vs. CIN)
Consensus: QB #15
Expert’s Rank: QB #11
Accuracy: #7 (out of 127)

“Regardless of how Manziel is able to perform as a passer, his rushing ability is enough on its own to place him in QB1 consideration. We’ve already seen this with Russell Wilson this year, who has been far from a prolific passer this season, but is on pace for one of the best rushing seasons of all-time by a quarterback. Another thing Manziel has going in his favor is Josh Gordon, who despite the struggles last week, boasts immense potential and fits in a similar role of Mike Evans at Texas A&M. Lastly, Kyle Shanahan is the same offensive coordinator that guided Robert Griffin III to QB1 status in fantasy. I’ve got no reservations firing up Manziel in his first NFL start.”
