Q1. What one pitcher will you be including in all of your daily lineups Friday and why?

Matt Harvey (P, NYM) – $10,700
“This is about as chalky as it gets, but Harvey is so far and away the best pitching option on Friday night, that I think you have to play him. He’ll match up against an extremely right handed heavy Marlins offense, who has understandably struggles against RHP this year. With how workable FanDuel hitter salaries have become, it seldom makes sense to try to save on your pitcher, and Friday night is no exception.”
Dan Gaspar (FantasyInsiders)

Cole Hamels (P, PHI) – $9,800
“It’s Harvey Day, but let’s focus on another National League ace. Cole Hamels is worth the $9,800 cost of admission against the Colorado Rockies, who possess an MLB-high 25.4 strikeout percentage against southpaws. They wield an underwhelming .296 wOBA and .675 OPS versus lefties, and they’re stripped of any Coors Field advantage that did them no favors last time. On May 18, Hamels hurled a gem (7.1 IP, 1 ER, 7 K) in Colorado, so bank on him enjoying a strong outing at home after notching a 1.53 ERA through his last four starts.”
Andrew Gould (Bleacher Report)

James Shields (P, SD) – $9,300
“Shields has turned himself into a different pitcher this year in San Diego. After years of going underappreciated by fantasy players for his consistency, he is doing his best to get noticed with 82 strikeouts in 62 innings. He has the highest swinging strike rate in the league at 15%. Strikeouts are king on FanDuel as they give you a high floor for cash games and high upside for tournaments.”
cheeseisgood (RotoGrinders)

Trevor Bauer (SP, CLE) – $8,600
Matt Harvey is the clear cut top option here against a struggling Miami Marlins offense and sneaks in at  $10,700  — an affordable rate for the days’ top option. You won’t find me passing him over in many contents… but if you are not into paying top-dollar for an arm, Trevor Bauer also makes for an intriguing play. Bauer is coming off of three straight quality starts in which he’s allowed just a single earned run in each while providing a strong 21:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio over those turns. The Mariners are a bottom-10 offensive squad versus right-handed pitching, sporting a meager .237/.296/.404 slash line against them this season. The Indians are beginning to role and Bauer is a nice value play Friday evening.”
Wayne Bretsky (BretskyBall)

Michael Bolsinger (P, LAD) – $6,900
“I am starting Bolsinger in all of my daily lineups on Friday night. His low salary allows me to leverage higher salary batters. He has averaged the most fantasy points per game for all pitchers tonight (14.3). He has won 3 games in a row and Los Angeles has a decent matchup at St. Louis vs. John Lackey. He is almost $4,000 less than Matt Harvey who came off his worst outing of his career and may have dead arm.”
Jeff Boggis (Fantasy Football Empire)

Lance McCullers (P, HOU) – $5,400
Matt Harvey and Cole Hamels will likely be popular picks on Friday, but I’m going to be giving McCullers a look in most of my lineups. The 21-year-old prospect has performed well through his first two major league starts, giving up just three earned runs over 10 2/3 innings while striking out 11 and holding opposing hitters to a .225 average. McCullers had been dominant in the minor leagues before his promotion this year, posting a 0.62 ERA and a 43/11 strikeout-to-walk ration in 29 innings, and his strong arm seems to be translating well to the big leagues. A matchup against a White Sox team that has struck out 62 times over the last week and is among the league’s worst at scoring runs is hard for me to pass up at McCullers’ bargain-basement $5,400 FanDuel price tag.”
Jason Willan (The Fake Baseball)

Miguel Gonzalez (P, BAL) – $4,700
“Gonzalez is pitching at home against the Tampa Bay Rays. He owns a 2.29 ERA over 35.1 home innings this season and has been equally effective across hitter handedness splits. The Rays are among the worst road teams in the AL with a .300 wOBA and .135 ISO. Gonzalez should have no trouble notching a win in this game and the price allows me to pump up my offense.”
Tim McCullough (RotoExperts)

Q2. What one hitter will you be including in all of your daily lineups Friday and why?

Trevor Plouffe (3B, MIN) – $2,900
“The Minnesota Twins have feasted on lefties all year, and they get a juicy matchup in Mark Buehrle, who sports an opposing .969 OPS against right-handed batters this season. Even if a Minnesota stack will be too popular for tournament play, Plouffe is too good a bargain to pass up in any contest. A career .279/.355/.480 hitter off left-handed pitching, Plouffe gets a southpaw with a 5.13 ERA, 5.11 FIP and 4.47 K/9 rate. An affordable fly-ball hitter teeing off against a vulnerable fly-ball hurler should catch the attention of all daily gamers.”
Andrew Gould (Bleacher Report)

Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) – $4,800
“My must start hitter on Friday night is Toronto third baseman, Josh Donaldson. I played Donaldson on Tuesday evening and he produced 21 fantasy points. He has 4 home runs in the past 3 games and until he cools off, you have to keep starting him in your daily fantasy lineups. He faces Minnesota starting pitcher Trevor May, who owns a 4.95 ERA.”
Jeff Boggis (Fantasy Football Empire)

Lucas Duda (1B, NYM) – $4,000
“Duda spent the better part of this week getting his power numbers back on track, slugging three home runs over a three-game set with the visiting Phillies. Friday evening matches him up with a very homer-prone Dan Haren, and expect the red hot Duda to take advantage. Priced at $4,000 for the day, Duda is a nice option and provides you with a whole lot more cap flexibility than paying for a top-tier player.”
Wayne Bretsky (BretskyBall)

Josh Hamilton (OF, TEX) – $2,500
“I’m not going to pretend that Hamilton’s skill-set is anywhere near where it was at his peak as a hitter, but $2,500 is still simply too cheap for him. Hamilton will likely be batting 5th for a Rangers squad that is projected to be one of the highest scoring teams of the night. If he can even channel a tiny bit of that career .242 ISO versus RHP, I’ll be a happy camper.”
Dan Gaspar (FantasyInsiders)

Michael Brantley (OF, CLE) – $4,400
“It is looking like a tough night to find reliable hitting options, so I’m going to pay up for a consistent well balanced hitter in Brantley who has a strong chance to give me some points against a struggling Taijuan Walker. Brantley provides a mix of power and speed, hits in the middle of a strong lineup and has elite plate discipline. He has struck out just 5 times in 106 plate appearances against RHP.”
cheeseisgood (RotoGrinders)

Hanley Ramirez (OF, BOS) – $3,000
“Ramirez has struggled of late, but hit a home run Thursday night in the series opener at Texas. Yovani Gallardo has allowed seven HRs in 56 innings and he’s been quite hittable with a 4.13 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. I’m going on a hunch here that Ramirez is feeling better. The price is certainly right and the park factor is in his favor.”
Tim McCullough (RotoExperts)

Billy Burns (OF, OAK) – $2,900
“Injuries to Coco Crisp have given Burns extended opportunities at the top of the A’s lineup this season and the rookie has been thriving. He’s among the league leaders for outfielders in runs scored and stolen bases over the last week and gets a favorable matchup on Friday at home against the Yankees’ Chris Capuano. Since returning from a DL stint on May 17th, the veteran southpaw has a 7.36 ERA and 1.91 WHIP while making it through just 7 1/3 innings over two starts. Burns has produced positive FanDuel points in seven of his last eight games, averaging 3.8 FPPG over that period, and makes for a nice inexpensive option that can free up dollars for other positions.”
