FanDuel Lineup: Tuesday July 7
Corey Kluber faces the Astros Tuesday, a team that's struck out the most of any this season

Corey Kluber faces the Astros Tuesday, a team that leads the AL in strikeouts

There are a lot of top notch pitchers on the mound Tuesday night, but they don’t necessarily have the greatest matchups. Sonny Gray goes up against the New York Yankees, while Max Scherzer and Johnny Cueto square off against each other in Washington.

Offensively, the Angels are in Colorado, which should favor Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. Be prepared to spend money on those guys though, as their prices definitely reflect where this game is taking place.

Below are my lineup choices for tonight’s contest. As always remember to check lineups and weather before your contests lock.

Pitcher

Kluber faces the Houston Astros who have stuck out 797 times this season (most in the AL). That’s a good thing for Kluber, since he is tied for second in the AL in strikeouts (141). Kluber went 7.1 IP with two ER and seven SO, the last time he faced the Astros.

Other Notables

Catcher

Grandal is batting .333 with two 2B, two HR and seven RBI, over his last seven games. All of his power (13 HR and 34 RBI) has come against RHP this year, and he and the Dodgers face RHP Chad Billingsley who has a 7.71 ERA this season.

Other Notables

First Base

Gonzalez is batting .306 at home this season, with 11 of his 16 HR coming at Dodger Stadium. He’s a .298 hitter with 15 HR and 39 RBI against RHP this season.

Other Notables

Second Base

Gordon has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season, and he’s batting .335 on the road. He and the Marlins face the Red Sox in Boston tonight. The Red Sox pitching staff has struggled all year. They have a 4.48 team ERA (worst in the AL). Opponents are batting .267 against them this year (13th in the AL) and they have a 1.36 team WHIP (worst in the AL).

Other Notables

Third Base

Turner is batting .350 at home this season, with six HR and 23 RBI. He’s batting .365 against RHP vs. just .136 against LHP. All of his 11 HR and all but three of his RBI have come against RHP this year.

Other Notables

Shortstop

Segura has been one of the best SS in the NL, if not all of baseball this year. He’s batting .440 over his last seven games and has been on fire in July, batting .550 this month.

Other Notables

Outfield

I’m betting against Billingsley and the Phillies tonight, and Pederson fits in nicely.

Reddick is batting .294 over his last seven games and is a .329 hitter against RHP, with 10 HR and 40 RBI. He and the A’s face RHP Nathan Eovaldi, who has struggled with command all season. The short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium should favor Reddick.

Garcia is batting .348 over his last seven games and .389 in July. He and the White Sox face a Toronto Blue Jays’ pitching staff that has struggled this season.
