Evan Gattis and the Astros provide a nice stacking option if you’re fading Coors Monday

Monday brings us a 12-game slate with the Diamondbacks and Rockies playing in Coors with the run total set at 10.5. There are a few elite pitchers taking the mound but if you’re going to pay up for hitters in Coors, you might have to pay down at pitching tonight. As always, every hitter in Coors is a fine option but this lineup won’t feature any player from that game. For those looking to pivot from the game at Coors, the Astros present a solid stacking option.

The run totals range from 7.0-10.5 with three teams being a -200 favorite or more. The Blue Jays, Mets, Braves, Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, and Dodgers all have TT over 4 runs. The Diamondbacks and Rockies both have a TT over 5.

Every game looks to have good weather for baseball tonight. Pay attention to games with high temperatures or winds blowing out. Make sure to stay updated on the weather by following Kevin Roth on Twitter @KevinRothWx. He will have a full DFS forecast.

Pitcher

Ross is never in the same conversation as the elite pitchers but his advanced stats suggest otherwise. Ross is borderline dominant when he takes the mound at home and the Rangers are a below average offense away from Texas. Ross has a 26.4 K% with a 2.60 FIP at home. His .347 BABIP is an indication that he has been somewhat unlucky on the year.

Other Notables

Catcher

Gattis has four HR in his last 10 games and draws a favorable matchup at home vs. Vidal Nuno. Gattis hits much better at home, posting a .365 wOBA, 134 wRC+, .277 ISO vs. left-handed pitching at home this season. He makes for a great pivot if you’re not paying up for a catcher in Coors.

Other Notables

First Base

Michael Lorenzon gets the start vs. the Cubs in Chicago. Lorenzon has struggled mightily vs. left-handed hitters and gets a difficult test vs. the Cubs tonight. Rizzo is one of the top hitting options overall tonight with a .404 wOBA, 159 wRC+, .235 ISO at home vs. right-handed pitching this season.

Other Notables

Second Base

Usually Altuve isn’t on my radar when paying up at this position.  That is mainly due to his low ISO, but the Astros are in a really good spot tonight. Altuve should be able to rack up points in bunches and can do that many different ways. Altuve is one of the best hitters vs. left-handed pitching and comes into this game with a .400 wOBA, 150 wRC+, .134 ISO vs. that handedness of pitcher.

Other Notables

Third Base

Lowrie hits right in the heart of the Astros lineup and makes for a great play for only $2,300. Lowrie is a switch-hitter that has much more success vs. left-handed pitching. Lowrie doesn’t have a huge sample size this season but he is coming into this game with a .425 wOBA, 176 wRC+, .421 ISO vs. left-handed pitching at home.

Other Notables

Shortstop

Peralta is slumping at the plate right now and is now minimum salary at $2,200. Peralta makes for a great punt play with Carlos Correa hurt and Troy Tulowitzki facing Danny Salazar tonight. Peralta still has great stats with a .405 wOBA, 162 wRC+, .300 ISO at home vs. left-handed pitching this season.

Other Notables

Outfield

Michael Lorenzon’s struggles vs. left-handed hitters were mentioned above. Schwarber comes into play tonight where he will most likely hit second in the Cubs lineup. Schwarber is having a very impressive rookie campaign with a .438 wOBA, 182 wRC+, .333 ISO vs. right-handed pitching.

It took me a while to come around to the fact that Granderson is having an outstanding season. The weather is warm and the wind will be blowing out to center tonight at Citi Field. The Mets have a TT over 4 runs tonight, Granderson will be leading off, posting a .392 wOBA, 156 wRC+, .233 ISO vs. right-handed pitching this season.

Gomez looked like he was struggling at the plate after Houston acquired him from Milwaukee, which has driven his price down to $2,800. Gomez has hits in 5 straight game and looks to be turning the corner while getting comfortable with his new team. Vidal Nuno is an extreme fly ball pitcher that should play to the strengths of Gomez’s game. Gomez has a .306 wOBA, 89 wRC+, .143 ISO this season.
