Last season, I drafted Andy Dalton and managed to win my 14-team fantasy football league, finishing with a 15-0 record. No, I did not win with Dalton at QB. I started my draft with Jimmy Graham and followed that with Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. By September 17th, I had added Ben Roethlisberger via waivers and the rest is history. Click here to read my season recap, which includes a draft recap and my Week 7 Monday Night Miracle!
If you were going to stack one offense in 2015, which team would you pick and how would you go about drafting said team? Let’s take a look at some of the options.
Draft Wizard: Mock in minutes vs. the most accurate experts
Seahawks
- Marshawn Lynch – Round 1
- Jimmy Graham – Round 2
- Russell Wilson – Round 4
The Seahawks can provide you with a top three TE, top five RB and a potential top five QB. You can even add the Seahawks’ defense and Steven Hauschka. Feel free to stash Doug Baldwin on your bench for the bye weeks.
Colts
- Andrew Luck – Round 1
- T.Y. Hilton – Round 2
- Frank Gore – Round 3
- Andre Johnson – Round 4
If you do plan on stacking the Colts, I would say skip over Hilton and target Johnson. This will allow you to add another quality RB like Lamar Miller or Graham at TE.
Broncos
- C.J. Anderson – Round 1
- Emmanuel Sanders – Round 3
- Peyton Manning – Round 4
You would have to be VERY lucky to find yourself with one of the last three picks of the first round to draft both Anderson and Demaryius Thomas. If you can’t do that, take Anderson in the first and follow that up with Jeremy Hill or LeSean McCoy in the second round, Sanders in the third and Manning in the fourth.
Saints
- Mark Ingram – Round 2
- Brandin Cooks – Round 3
- Drew Brees – Round 4
If you “reach” for Ingram at the end of the second round, it’s ok because you probably have Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles, Bell or Eddie Lacy on your team. Follow that pick with Cook early in the third and hope Brees stays on the board until the end of the fourth round.
Cowboys
- Dez Bryant – Round 1
- Joseph Randle – Round 4
- Tony Romo – Round 5
- Jason Witten – Round 6
I understand that the Cowboys are claiming a RBBC, and Randle is third on the depth chart to start the season, but I do not believe it for one second. Randle is the only legit RB on the roster. Sure Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar will see some snaps, and it will frustrate Randle owners, but the offensive line is just too good to ignore their best back.
In between Bryant and Randle, I would add another WR in Round 2 like Randall Cobb or A.J. Green and follow that up with Miller or Frank Gore. You could flip it around as well and go after Hill/McCoy in Round 2 and Brandin Cooks/Jordan Matthews in the third.
Lions
- Calvin Johnson – Round 2
- Golden Tate – Round 5
- Ameer Abdullah – Round 6
- Joique Bell – Round 7
- Matthew Stafford – Round 9
You have a couple ways to grab a WR/RB/QB trio from Detroit. I would prefer to wait for Tate in the fifth, and grab Abdullah in the sixth, adding your RB1/WR1 in the first and second rounds.
Patriots
- Rob Gronkowski – Round 1
- Julian Edelman – Round 4
- Tom Brady – Round 7
If you want to rely on Blount each week, feel free, but this is one of the few stacks that doesn’t feature a RB. Brady’s ADP is likely to change with today’s news, and he’ll be available for stacking starting Week 1 if things stand as they currently are. Make sure you draft a RB and WR in Rounds 2 and 3. Don’t leave Edelman as your WR1.
How to win after drafting Tom Brady
Dolphins
- Lamar Miller – Round 3
- Jarvis Landry – Round 4
- Jordan Cameron – Round 7
- Ryan Tannehill – Round 9
The entire Dolphins’ offense has seen their ADP trend upward all summer long. Landing Miller and Landry as your RB2/WR2 with Tannehill at QB could produce a ton of fantasy points for your team. Drafting Cameron at TE could be the riskiest player selected at the position in the entire draft, but does have a huge upside.
Eagles
- DeMarco Murray – Round 2
- Jordan Matthews – Round 3
- Nelson Agholor – Round 5
- Sam Bradford – Round 9
- Zach Ertz – Round 12
If you feel like adding another RB in the third round because you drafted a stud WR in the first, you can wait for Agholor in the fifth. A healthy Bradford this preseason has seen his stock increase to the ninth round and into QB1 in 12- and 14-team leagues. Ertz has dropped out of the eighth round in July to the 12th round these days. You can consider him a real value pick if he can put up 55 receptions for 700 yards and five or six touchdowns.
Chargers
- Melvin Gordon – Round 3
- Keenan Allen – Round 4
- Philip Rivers – Round 10
- Antonio Gates – Round 12
Much like the Eagles, you can expect a RBBC with Gordon, Danny Woodhead and Branden Oliver. Gordon should still provide fantasy owners with enough value to warrant a weekly RB2 status. However, like the Patriots, you could skip the RB and just pray Gates stays healthy when he returns from suspension, and that Rivers finishes as a top 10-12 QB again.
Vikings
- Adrian Peterson – Round 1
- Mike Wallace – Round 8
- Teddy Bridgewater – Round 12
Sleeper team alert! The return of Peterson and the addition of Wallace and a healthy Kyle Rudolph changes the offensive makeup of the Vikings. This trio should only be seen in a deep league, maybe even only a two-QB format.
