We’re approaching the midway point of the NFL season and the competition continues to be tight as the experts jockey for the title of Most Accurate Fantasy Football Expert. This past week featured surprises both on the field and in our competition as the accuracy standings continue to shift around. As always, we’ll break down which pundits did the best job with their week 7 player rankings and also examine who is moving up in the year-to-date standings.

Congratulations to week 7’s most accurate expert: Dawgmatica (Pyromaniac.com). This is the second week in a row that Dawgmatica has cracked the top 5, which is an impressive feat given the number of experts (129) in the competition. His rankings this past week were especially strong at the WR position. Dawgmatica was among a small group of experts that rated Jarvis Landry as a viable WR1 (his #11 WR). That ranking was 7 spots above the Expert Consensus and served as quality advice given that Landry scorched the Texans for 2 TDs. He also gets credit for having one of the highest rankings for Nate Washington (9 rec, 127 yds, 2 TDs). Washington proved to be one of week 7’s best surprises and Dawgmatica slotted him 15 spots above the consensus. At RB, Dawgmatica took a risk by ranking LeGarrette Blount (his RB #27) lower than all but 1 expert. The pick seemed like a gamble given that Dion Lewis was inactive. However, it turned out to be an excellent prediction as the Patriots shied away from running against a stout Jets’ defense and Blount netted negative fantasy points (-3 yards rushing).
