Brian Hoyer should get plenty of opportunities to throw against the Saints

We’re getting pretty deep in the fantasy season, but in daily fantasy sports (DFS), week 12 is no different than week 1. Instead of dealing with injured players or some waiver wire fodder sitting on your bench that you’re now forced to start, you get to build a brand new lineup. Building a top lineup isn’t all that simple though.

To help with some DFS picks, we’ve got our featured experts who are competing in our third annual Daily Fantasy Accuracy Cup (DFAC). Each week, the top industry experts play in a traditional salary cap game hosted by our friends at FanDuel. At stake is the title of “most accurate salary cap expert” and at the end of each week, the top finishers from the previous Sunday stop by to give us their favorite plays for the upcoming games.

Best FanDuel Plays for Week 12

Expert Player Position Salary Opponent
John Halpin – FOX Sports Brian Hoyer QB $7,100 vs. NO
Sean Beazley – EDSFootball Antonio Brown WR $9,00 at SEA
Scott Whitfield – Roto Rankings Jordan Reed TE $5,800 vs. NYG
James Hatfield – Hatty Waiver Wire Guru Thomas Rawls RB $6,300 vs. PIT
Muntradamus – BEASTDOME Adrian Peterson RB $9,000 at ATL

Q. What player are you most likely to include in your FanDuel lineup for this weekend?

Brian Hoyer (QB – HOU): $7,100 vs. NO
“I know he’s the chalk, and almost everyone will own him. But in most cases – especially in cash games – it’ll be difficult to pass on Hoyer as the 15th-most expensive QB. The Saints are bad, bad, bad, and Hoyer has averaged 244 passing yards while throwing 12 TDs over his last six games. This almost looks too easy, but I’m going with Hoyer anyway.”
John Halpin (FOX Sports)

Antonio Brown (WR, PIT): $9,000 at SEA
“One player who I really like this week is Antonio Brown. He comes in at a hefty $9,000 salary. Normally, you need to be very creative to work a player with such a high price tag into your lineup, but this week there is a ton of value out there so you can easily fit Brown in there. He has been on fire since Roethlisberger has returned from injury. He’s averaging 35 FanDuel points over his last two games and I’m not too concerned about Seattle’s defense or a matchup with Richard Sherman. Brown is matchup proof and I am predicting another double-digit reception game here with a score.”
Sean Beazley (EDSFootball)

Jordan Reed (TE, WAS): $5,800 vs. NYG
“The TE I will be using heavily in Week 12 on FanDuel is Jordan Reed. He has 5 TDs in his last 4 games played and caught 6 balls for 96 yards in his Week 3 matchup against the Giants at MetLife Stadium. Now back at home where his QB has won his last 5 games at FedEx field, he faces a Giants team that is allowing the second-most fantasy points to TEs on the season. At his price point, more figure to be on Delanie Walker who has been hot of late at $6,100 or a similarly priced Travis Kelce at $5,800. Additionally, some may choose to save a hundred bucks and opt for Antonio Gates at $5,700. Jordan Reed has top-3 upside at tight end for Week 12, if not higher now that Greg Olsen has already played.”
Scott Whitfield (Roto Rankings)

Thomas Rawls (RB, SEA): $6,300 vs. PIT
“Rawls is going to be in my starting lineup this week. He is a steal with Marshawn Lynch out due to injury. He has taken full advantage of his opportunity and has PPR upside. He will see plenty of dump-off passes from Russell Wilson.”
James Hatfield (Hatty Waiver Wire Guru)

Adrian Peterson (RB, MIN): $9,000 at ATL
“Yes, there are a lot of good sleeper value plays at RB this week. While you can make a case to grab as many of those options as possible, you will likely be knocking yourself all Sunday night if you do not choose Peterson. AP is playing Hall-of-Fame worthy football, and if you have the chance to play him in a Dome game against a semi-weak run defense like the Falcons, you need to shell out the salary cap dollars to do it. The Vikings are in must-win games as they look to clinch a playoff spot and Adrian Peterson will have his hands all over the football in Week 12.”
Muntradamus (BEASTDOME)
