Carmelo and LeBron face off once again Wednesday night

There is something about sports and numbers that goes together so perfectly making DFS addicting. Whether it is love and passion for the game to constantly check and compare stats, to check out injury reports and starting lineups, to be able to put together squads and pretend you are a coach. Or for the opportunity it provides with the study habits and mathematics, or the relationships built through groups and forums, and last but not least, the money being taken home. Either way, we love to play Daily Fantasy Sports for many reasons, however, we all have eyes on the prize!

Hopefully, last week went as well for you as it did for me. Here is my lineup for FanDuel:

Point Guard

T.J. McConnell ($3,500)
At the bottom tier of players on FanDuel, you find T.J. playing about 25 minutes per game coming off the bench behind Isaiah Canaan. Canaan cannot seem to find his shot, and shooting a low 29% from the field leaves opportunity for McConnell to step into a bigger role or more playing time. McConnell put up 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 12 assists (34.4 FanDuel Points) against the Cavs. The Bucks are in the top 10 for most fantasy points allowed to a point guard, so look for him to have another productive night.

Rajon Rondo ($6,400)
It appears Rondo might have found the perfect fit with the Kings. DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay gives him somewhat like he had in Boston with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Posting two games in a row of 21 points and eight assists against the Clippers, is the old Rondo back? Well, he sure is looking good with those back-to-back performances. He put up 17 shots so it looks like he is being more aggressive and productive. With Cousins out, he will be awarded more minutes adding more value to his cost.

Shooting Guard

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($6,800)
The “Greek Freak” nickname says it all. He is a natural athlete that does it all and fills the stat line. I don’t think there’s anyone that can match up with him on the 76ers since Covington is a bit banged up with a sprained right knee. The “Greek Freak” has returned, and came in strong! 20+ points in three straight games, followed with at least eight rebounds and two assists in each of those games. He will once again provide a filled stat line against Philadelphia.

C.J. McCollum ($6,400)
I loved him coming off the bench last year so I love that he gets the opportunity to shine. He is a natural scorer like Lillard, making them a dynamic duo. His production will grow with time as he eases into a bigger role. After his huge night against NO, he has failed to score 20 points which means he is due! He’s provided a couple nice performances so far, as his least productive game was 27.3 fantasy points. He will score more than 20 points this game getting you 30+ fantasy points.

Small Forward

Carmelo Anthony ($9,500)
The classic: Melo vs LeBron! I have always loved this match-up because it always brings out the competitiveness in both stars. They will both bring it all to the table, however, LBJ has Kevin Love that can take away from his performance leaving Melo to do his thing and shoot the ball, often. He has already had a shooting night where he put up 27 shots and he put up 37 points against a tough Washington team. Let’s see if he exceeds 30 shots and goes for 40+ against LeBron.

Kawhi Leonard ($7,900)
Man is this kid good! To me, he quietly sits in the top three of small forwards. One the most consistent players today, providing scoring, rebounding, blocking and stealing. He has failed to score less than 30 fantasy points, scoring 45+ twice. He will be matched up against a young Otto Porter on the Wizards in a favorable match-up.

Power Forward

Kevin Love ($7,600)
What a goofy look he has this season, but it is working for him! Love has always produced well, mostly due to his rebounding so when he scores he has the ability to post 50 fantasy points like he did against the Heat. Against two young bigs for the 76ers, he should be able to take control and shoot at will. The 76ers are first in most points allowed to a power forward and with this game in favor of the Cavs, Love may see many opportunities.

Derrick Favors ($8,000)
He is questionable with the flu but if he plays he has a killer match-up. Portland has two young bigs that are not the most athletic and Favors can be placed all over the floor giving opponents a difficult time to constantly follow him. He is averaging 21.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 2.3 steals a game. If he does not play, Ibaka would be a great fit. Ibaka has scored 40 fantasy points in the last two games, playing a larger role on offense.

Center

Kosta Koufos ($3,800)
Averaging more than 20 minutes a game coming off the bench scoring more than 20 fantasy points in two out of three games. DeMarcus Cousins is out leaving the center spot open to Willie Cauley-Stein and Kosta. No matter who starts the game they will most likely split minutes, giving more value to both of them. With the price of Kosta, you cannot go wrong. He will hit value, no doubt, getting at least 20 points. He is more of an offensive player so let’s see if he can put up more points against a faster-paced team in the Phoenix Suns. The tempo of the game will also allow for more opportunities for Kosta.

My lineup is put together based off of Vegas odds, numerous stats (I like defensive stats), and match ups. A combination of multiple facts and instincts will take you far.
