Eddie Lacy could put up a second solid week against a poor Bears defense

Eddie Lacy could put up a second straight solid week against a poor Bears defense

There’s no more room for errors at this point and if you’re lucky enough to still be in contention, then it’s time to put your best foot forward. Bye weeks are a thing of the past and every player on your roster is an option. In some cases, the decisions may be easy, but that isn’t always the scenario.

Week 12 starts on Thanksgiving, and may all of you have a great one. To help in celebrating a joyful day, we’ve asked our featured experts to provide some helpful advice for some pressing questions that will hopefully help those tough decisions.

Q1. Name one deep sleeper outside our top 100 flex that you’re high on to exceed expectations in Week 12.

Tyler Lockett – WR, SEA vs. PIT
“For a deep sleeper this week, I like Tyler Lockett of the Seahawks. He has a very favorable matchup against a Steelers secondary that allows 278 yards passing per game, and 17 touchdowns on the year. I love Lockett at home, plus he’s had a great 4 game split of 13 receptions, on 15 targets, good for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns.”
Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Brent Celek – TE, PHI at DET
“Over the past two weeks, Celek has caught eleven passes for 213 yards. With Zach Ertz out with a concussion, Celek is in a good position to post another quality receiving line in what could be a high-scoring contest.”
Matthew Hill (Fantasy Team Advice)

Shane Vereen – RB, NYG at WAS
“The Redskins have allowed an average of 25.2 standard-league fantasy points per game to RBs over the past six contests — a number that includes three receiving TDs. Vereen has more upside than usual.”
Matt Lutovsky (Sporting News)

Vernon Davis – TE, DEN vs. NE
“A young QB’s best friend is a reliable tight end, and Davis showed last week that he was acclimating nicely to the Denver offense. Davis is a solid spot starter going forward with TE1 upside weekly.”
Adam Inman (FFLockerRoom)

Jonathan Grimes – RB, HOU vs. NO
“Grimes has been getting some love lately from writers hoping that the Texans realize that Alfred Blue is not the back best suited to fill in for Arian Foster. Unfortunately, Grimes continues to only see 20 or so snaps a game. I thought he looked much more explosive than Blue this past week and the Texans are going to need Grimes in a matchup that is expected to be one of the higher scoring games (47.5 O/U).  I consider Grimes a nice dice-roll flex play in PPR leagues, or in spots where you lost an RB to injury and missed the handcuff.”
Dennis Esser (Coach Esser)

Q2. Who should fantasy owners be most concerned about as a potential bust this week?

Lamar Miller – RB, MIA at NYJ
“I think Miller will have a tough go of it this week against the Jets, as they have only given up 91.6 yards per game, 3.8 yards per carry, and just two touchdowns so far to opposing running backs. Miller had a tough game last time against the Jets getting 7 carries for 36 yards and only one catch. Last week, Miller had a golden matchup against Dallas, and he only had 7 carries and two catches for 55 yards total.”
Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Tom Brady – QB, NE at DEN
“Brady has not thrown for more than two touchdowns in a game since week eight. He will now take on a Broncos defense in Denver that has only surrendered a total of eight touchdowns through the air this season. While “bust” may be too strong of a term, owners need to temper their expectations for Brady this week, and steer clear of him in DFS.”
Matthew Hill (Fantasy Team Advice)

Thomas Rawls – RB, SEA vs. PIT
“We’ve seen him get shut down once this year as a starter (vs. Detroit in Week 4), and no team gives up fewer fantasy points to running backs than the Steelers.”
Matt Lutovsky (Sporting News)

Javorius Allen – RB, BAL at CLE
“People will be swarming to start this guy, especially in DFS, but any team with Matt Schaub at the helm is an offense I’m going to avoid. Cleveland and Baltimore had a shootout in their last meeting, but none of the Ravens talent is left standing. I can’t see Cleveland preparing for anyone else but him.”
Adam Inman (FFLockerRoom)

Brandon LaFell – WR, NE at DEN
“LaFell facing the corners of the Denver Broncos is not going to be pretty, especially now that he doesn’t have Julian Edelman occupying the opposing defenses. With Amendola questionable to play this week, owners may think they have to play LaFell, but they would be wrong. To hammer home the point, the Broncos have only given up two 100 yard games to WRs this year and have allowed a WR to catch 8 or more passes just 3 times while only giving up one touchdown to a wide receiver. (Mike Wallace?! Really?)”
Dennis Esser (Coach Esser)

Q3. What struggling player gets back on track & rewards patient fantasy owners?

Eddie Lacy – RB, GB vs. CHI
“After dealing with nagging injuries and a brutal schedule, Eddie Lacy is healthy. After rushing for 100 yards last week, he appears ready to reward his owners that were patient enough to hold onto their disappointing former-first round pick. With his next four games coming against teams that have been average against the run, Lacy could be a difference maker down the stretch for owners who have managed to stay in the playoff hunt, despite his struggles.”
Matthew Hill (Fantasy Team Advice)

“He was good in week 11, but the Chicago matchup is when the patient owners will really be rewarded. That revitalized Packers offense should have success this weekend, and so should Lacy.”
Adam Inman (FFLockerRoom)

Sammy Watkins – WR, BUF at KC
“I think this will be a boom week for Sammy Watkins, as even Rex Ryan stated in his press conference that they have to get him the ball more. The last time Watkins lobbied for targets, he had quite the day with 8 receptions for 168 yards and a TD. Of course, who doesn’t lover the matchup of Watkins versus a Kansas City secondary that gives up the most FPS to opposing wideouts.”
Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Golden Tate – WR, DET vs. PHI
“Tate is overdue to get in the end zone. He had an eight-catch, 11-target game last week, and this week he gets an Eagles defense allowing the most fantasy points to WRs.”
Matt Lutovsky (Sporting News)

Calvin Johnson – WR, DET vs. PHI
“Johnson has been mediocre at best when compared to his ceiling. He’s hovered around 5 or 6 receptions for 80+ yards in each of his last three games. That’s not what you expect or need from your number one fantasy wide receiver. This week, he gets a shell shocked Philadelphia Eagles secondary on Thanksgiving Day and should look like the Megatron of old.”
Dennis Esser (Coach Esser)

Q4. Give us 1 bold prediction for week 12.

“As has been the case all year, the New Orleans defense will make a fantasy star out of an otherwise pedestrian quarterback. Brian Hoyer will finish comfortably inside the top ten of fantasy quarterbacks in week 12, with a legitimate chance of finding himself in the top five, thanks to his matchup against a Saints pass defense that has given up 14 touchdowns over the past three weeks.”
Matthew Hill (Fantasy Team Advice)

Brian Hoyer is going to finish in the top three among QBs in fantasy points. The Saints defense can’t stop anyone, and Hoyer has the weapons to put up big numbers.”
Matt Lutovsky (Sporting News)

“I predict that LeGarrette Blount of the Patriots will be an RB1 this week, as I have the feeling this will be a game that the Pats will try to win on the ground. The Patriots are paper thin at wide receiver, and will try to maul the Broncos and not have Brady go against their fierce pass rush. Blount has not had less than 16 touches in his last 4 games, and he is averaging an impressive 4.3 yards per carry this year. This will be the week, with Amendola and Dobson limited, we’ll see quite the heavy use of 3 and 4 TE packages.”
Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Willie Snead will get back on track and even outperform expectations this week against the Houston Texans. The last we saw of Snead, he was nursing an injury and being rested during a blowout loss to the Washington Redskins. He is coming off of two weeks of rest and is facing a secondary that can be taken advantage of. With that said, my bold prediction is Willie Snead will have 15+ PPR points this week and end up as a top 24 PPR WR.”
Dennis Esser (Coach Esser)

“San Francisco 49ers’ running back Shaun Draughn, will outscore any Cardinals running back in their matchup on Sunday.”
Adam Inman (FFLockerRoom)
