Quarterback
Brian Hoyer – Houston Texans ($28)
vs. New Orlean Saints
Hoyer was just cleared from the league’s concussion protocol on Monday, which is good news for DFS gamers looking for a value at quarterback this weekend. The Saints are getting shredded by opposing quarterbacks, allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position at 24.9. That is over five points higher than second-place Baltimore. In addition, the Saints have allowed an average of 2.8 passing touchdowns per game. Hoyer and DeAndre Hopkins are one of the top DFS stacks in Week 12.
Other notables:
- Ryan Fitzpatrick ($29)
- Russell Wilson ($28)
- Jameis Winston ($28)
- Josh McCown ($20)
Running Back
Thomas Rawls – Seattle Seahawks ($18)
vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Rawls is lined up to start on Sunday as Marshawn Lynch is looking questionable at best. Rawls had an excellent game last week after Lynch was a surprise inactive, going off for 209 rushing yards, 46 receiving yards and two total touchdowns. The Steelers’ run defense is much better than San Francisco’s, but a starting running back for just $18 is hard to pass on.
Other notables:
- Javorius Allen ($17)
- Eddie Lacy ($14)
- Tevin Coleman ($13)
- Spencer Ware – if Charcandrick West is out ($10)
- Ahmad Bradshaw ($10)
Wide Receiver
DeSean Jackson – Washington Redskins ($18)
vs. New York Giants
Finally over an early-season hamstring injury, Jackson flashed some of the big play ability his is known for last week. Jackson connected with Kirk Cousins for a 56-yard touchdown in Week 11 and should be able to get behind a Giants’ pass defense that is ranked twenty-second in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) according to Football Outsiders. At Jackson’s price and with his considerable upside, he’s worth plugging into a lineup or two this week.
Other notables:
- Stevie Johnson ($22)
- Stefon Diggs ($22)
- Jeremy Maclin ($22)
- Kamar Aiken ($19)
- Chris Givens ($14)
Tight End
Brent Celek – Philadelphia Eagles ($10)
@ Detroit Lions
Celek, with Zach Ertz dealing with a concussion, caught seven balls for 79 yards last week against the Buccaneers. With the Eagles playing on Thanksgiving, Ertz may have a hard time getting cleared in time for the game. If Ertz is declared out, Celek is the top value at tight end. The Lions have struggled to limit the position this year, allowing the ninth-most fantasy points and ranking twenty-seventh in DVOA.
Other notables:
- Coby Fleener ($15)
- Charles Clay ($15)
- Heath Miller ($13)
- Crockett Gillmore ($14)
Defense
Cleveland Browns ($10)
vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Browns’ defense has not performed very well this season, but the Ravens are going to be severely undermanned on Monday night. They are now without their starting quarterback in Joe Flacco, their leading rusher in Justin Forsett and their leading receiver in Steve Smith. Matt Schaub, who scares no one at this point in his career, will be the starter for Baltimore. The Cleveland defense could very well underwhelm again, but with Travis Benjamin returning punts, at least there’s always a chance for a return touchdown.
Other notables:
- Jacksonville Jaguars ($11)
- Miami Dolphins ($10)
- Baltimore Ravens ($10)
