Mark Trumbo will feast at Camden Yards in 2016

2015 Season Recap
Mark Trumbo played 142 games last year split between the Diamondbacks and the Mariners, hitting 22 home runs with 62 runs, 62 RBI and a .262 batting average. He looked better in his second season in the NL posting a .805 OPS in 46 games for the Diamondbacks compared to a .707 OPS in 2014. He also recorded a career-high .247 ISO in his time in Arizona. After the trade, he hit 13 home runs with a .263 AVG and .735 OPS in 96 games for the Mariners.

2016 Season Outlook
The top home run hitter for the last three years has called Camden Yards his home (Chris Davis, Nelson Cruz and Chris Davis again). Without doubt, it’s a good place to hit for power hitters. Mark Trumbo has already had two 30+ home run seasons in the AL and should enjoy life in the hitter-friendly AL East parks.

His 2015 included a terrible June (.348 OPS) at the end of his tenure in Arizona and the first few weeks in Seattle. If he had been able to replace these 22 games with the production from the rest of the season, then his stats would have been a more encouraging 25 home runs, .286 AVG and .837 OPS.

There is little variation between the FantasyPros ECR™ and the ADP which both have the 30-year-old as the 25th or 26th first baseman off the board. Trumbo feels an unfashionable pick this year, with the MLB debutant Byung-ho Park being ranked four spots ahead on first base rankings and Lucas Duda being placed nine spots higher as the 17th first baseman. Interestingly, Trumbo and Duda share almost identical stats for the last three years. Trumbo – 389 games, 70 HR, 225 RBI, .244 AVG. Duda – 388 games, 72 HR, 198 RBI, .243 AVG.

Mark Trumbo will enter 2016 with dual 1B/OF eligibility again and is likely to split time at DH, right field and first base. In his first year in Baltimore, Nelson Cruz saw his home run tally jump from the 20s to the 40s, perhaps Mark Trumbo has an outside chance of doing the same.
