FantasyAces NBA Lineup Advice: Friday, February 5
Kevin Love

Kevin Love has averaged 40 fantasy points per game over his last five contests

Friday is finally here! There are 10 games to work with tonight as we head into Super Bowl weekend and there are some injury situations to monitor as the day unfolds. Be sure to follow my Twitter account for any changes to this lineup later in the day. Let’s take a look at a lineup for FantasyAces.

Guards

E’Twaun Moore CHI @ DEN $3,600
Moore is coming off a career game on Wednesday night as he scored 24 points in 38 minutes, which was good for a total of 39.25 fantasy points. Jimmy Butler is officially questionable as of Friday morning, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bulls take the cautious route with their star. If we get confirmation that Butler is indeed out, Moore makes for a fine source of salary relief in a great matchup.

Rajon Rondo SAC @ BRK $5,800
Rondo struggled with his shot on Wednesday night, but he did log 30 minutes so I think he is a safe bet to play tonight after dealing with a turf toe injury. The matchup is a plus one, and Rondo is a nightly threat for a triple-double. Look for a performance more in line with his season average tonight against the lowly Nets.

Chris Paul LAC @ ORL $6,600
John Wall is a viable play here, but I worry about the blowout risk coupled with some likely high ownership levels. Paul is a nice pivot as he continues to carry the load for the Clippers. He’s playing heavy minutes and over the last 10 games, he’s averaged 42.2 fantasy points per contest. He has a high floor for cash games with an above-average matchup in what is pegged as a fairly close game.

Forwards

Aaron Gordon ORL vs. LAC $4,650
Gordon struggled in a tough matchup against the Thunder on Wednesday night, but he should find more success tonight against the Clippers. The Clippers rank 28th in team rebounding rate and he should take advantage of this tonight. As I noted above, this game is expected to remain relatively close, so look for a full allotment of minutes for the young forward tonight.

Kevin Love CLE vs. BOS $5,800
Love continues to post quality performances as the Cavaliers have made more of an effort to play to his strengths. Boston is a great matchup for Love and this game features a healthy projected total of 210.5 points, so I expect plenty of opportunities to produce. Over the last five games, Love is averaging right at 40 fantasy points per contest, and I look for him to continue that production tonight.

Derrick Favors UTA vs, MIL $5,150
Favors has played at least 35 minutes in each of the last three games as he rounds back into form after an absence due to injury. The Bucks rank 22nd in team rebounding and they struggle in particular to defend opposing big men. Favors feels a bit too cheap here and considering he has been right at a fantasy point per minute producer, he should have no trouble paying off his salary tonight.

Center

Nikola Jokic DEN vs. CHI $4,700
Jokic took a step back on Wednesday night, but I’ll chalk that up to a difficult matchup. Jokic should find things to be much easier tonight as he faces the Bulls, who do not defend opposing centers well. He is dealing with a shoulder issue, but he logged 29 minutes on Wednesday, which likely would have been more had the big man not gotten into foul trouble. In the three games prior to Wednesday, Jokic scored at least 35 fantasy points while averaging 30 minutes per game. There is good upside here as Jokic has upside of seven to eight times his current salary.

Utility

Jordan Hill IND @ ATL $4,300
The Hawks are the worst rebounding team in the league and Hill should be looking at plenty of run tonight as Ian Mahinmi didn’t make the trip to Atlanta. The Hawks rank near the bottom of the league against opposing centers and Hill has been an efficient producer when on the floor. If Hill can see around 28 minutes, he should easily eclipse his value threshold tonight.

Danny Green SA @ DAL $4,000
Manu Ginobili is out for the foreseeable future, which means Danny Green could be called upon to absorb a few of those minutes. Green has been utilized more for his defense, but I expect him to help out more on the offensive end now. This is a good matchup and he is a solid source of salary relief tonight as a result.
