Fister struggled through elbow inflammation during the Spring and then went down with a lat strain. His timetable is more wait and see, but in the meantime, Taylor Jordan and Tanner Roark will try to impress and become intriguing stream and deep league options. - Rich Migliorisi, The Fantasy Fix
An unnamed source claims Fister will indeed begin the season on the 15-day disabled list with a lat strain, not the elbow discomfort that he was having earlier in spring training. Though the club has not officially made a statement, one should be on the way. - David Wiers, Fangraphs
Our prediction is that Fister leapfrogs new teammate Jordan Zimmermann , and we're willing to take him as our number two starter if need be. Of course, we may not need to, given his ADP, but games of fantasy chicken are another story altogether. - Alex McCrum, Roto Authority
Assuming his elbow issue is nothing, Fister should really benefit from the move to the National League. His strikeout rate should get a boost and he should receive better defensive support, reducing his hits allowed total. - Mike Podhorzer, Fangraphs
