Physical reveals Matt Kemp has arthritic hips

A physical revealed that Matt Kemp has severe arthritis in both hips. USA TODAY was told by a person familiar with the diagnosis but spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to discuss the medical issue. The Padres are now trying to decide how to proceed on the blockbuster trade that was agreed to a week ago. Today is the deadline to complete the deal. (Bob Nightengale on Twitter)

This news affects many players and teams. If the trade does not go through, then the Dodgers would have to re-work the Jimmy Rollins deal because Zach Eflin was included in the package to Philadelphia.
