Fantasy Impact:

This is an odd move for the Yankees, as they need the DH spot for Alex Rodriguez or for players to have days off, and they needed a 2B/OF like Prado more than a 1B/OF like Jones. That being said, Jones' left handed power could play very well in the Bronx, potentially making him a 30 home run player if given at-bats. He is not more than a utility player with the upside of lesser Adam LaRoche; Jones has a career .764 OPS and has hit 20 or more home runs three times. The Yankees were without a left handed power source and he could be part of an effective platoon at DH with Rodriguez and can play the corner outfield positions and 1B.
