Alex Rodriguez looks for a fresh start

by Chris Zolli | Mon, Jan 26th 10:04am EST

Alex Rodriguez met with new MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and looked to meet with Yankees brass. He wants a clean slate in 2015 after missing all of 2014 with a PED suspension. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Rodriguez could still be a productive player, as he has averaged 26 home runs and 85 RBI per 162 games from 2011-2013. Rodriguez should slot in as seventh in the Yankees lineup, probably platooning with Garrett Jones, and providing an OPS in the high-.700s or low-.800s. Without playing the field, Rodriguez will not get the extra wear and tear, allowing him to be a more productive hitter. Rodriguez should not be counted on as an everyday fantasy player, though, considering that the Yankees do not even have him as more than a platoon player.
