Daniel Nava agrees on deal with Red Sox

By agreeing to this contract, Nava adds his name to the long list of players competing for time in the Red Sox outfield for 2015. One statistic that could be of interest, is that Nava has been a career switch-hitter with drastic splits, and is strongly considering batting as a lefty only in 2015. He has been a .293 career hitter from the left side, with just a .203 batting average as a righty, and last season's splits were even more extreme. In any case, finding playing time in the crowded Red Sox outfield will be an uphill battle for Nava.
