Veteran outfielder Ryan Ludwick, formerly of the Cincinnati Reds, signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers that includes an invitation to spring training. (rangersblog.dallasnews.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Ludwick will have a chance to earn $1.75 million if he can stick with the major league club. The 36-year old hit 26 home runs as recently as 2012, but has been hampered by injuries the past two seasons. But given the Rangers limited options in the outfield after Shin-Soo Choo and Leonys Martin, Ludwick could find himself spending time in left field, as well as in the DH slot. Ludwick also has 126 pinch-hits over his career, so he could stick as an important bat off the bench.
