First base is Ryan Howard's job to lose

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr made is very clear that the organization wishes to move forward without Ryan Howard. However, the Phillies have yet to be able trade Howard and manager Ryne Sandberg noted that first base is Howard's to lose entering spring training. (CSNPhilly.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Amaro said that Howard would have to earn playing time this season after coming off a year in which he hit .223 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI. Howard has clearly not been the same player the past few years since his Achilles injury in 2011. Howard can still provide some power, but don't expect him to be an elite fantasy first baseman this season.
