Zack Wheeler agrees to deal with Philadelphia Phillies

Free-agent starting pitcher Zack Wheeler has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to a report from The Athletic's Marc Carig. MLB insider Jeff Passan adds that the deal is for worth more than $100 million over five years. (Marc Carig on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Wheeler was considered one of the top arms on the free-agent market coming into the offseason behind only Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg, both of whom are expected to receive even bigger contracts than the one Wheeler just signed. It was reported earlier today that the Phillies were hot in pursuit of Wheeler along with at least a handful of other teams, and now he will switch NL East teams after striking out 195 batters with a 3.96 ERA over 195 1/3 innings in 2019.
