Carlos Beltran returns to the field

by Chris Zolli | Fri, Mar 6th 10:44pm EST

After offseason surgery, Beltran was back in the Yankees lineup on Friday night, finishing 0-2 with a walk.

Fantasy Impact:

The best thing for Beltran is that he is healthy after coming off of his worst MLB season in 2014. Beltran's .703 OPS was 144 points lower than his career average and one has to wonder how long he struggled through bone spurs in his right elbow. New hitting coach Jeff Pentland was his coach in Kansas City and Beltran appears to be swinging better; although he may not return to an .850 OPS in 2015, an OPS in the high-.700s or low-.800s should be expected from Beltran. This could be enough for him to be an OF3 or OF4.
