Ryan Howard goes 2-for-3 against the Orioles
by Kerry Kauffman | Mon, Mar 9th 4:54pm EDT
The Phillies managed just 6 hits and a run against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, but got stellar pitching in a 1-0 victory. Ryan Howard broke a mini-slump, going 2-for-3 to raise his average in Grapefruit League play to .308.
Fantasy Impact:
Although Howard is batting .308 this spring, he has no walks and no extra base hits at this point. His power numbers have dropped significantly since his Achilles injury a few seasons ago. While not the slugger he once was, Howard should still be a decent power option in most fantasy leagues.
