Austin Riley expected to make roster even as a reserve

Austin Riley is expected to make Atlanta’s Opening Day roster, even if he wasn’t the staring third baseman. (Gabriella Burns of The Atlantic Journal-Constitution )

Fantasy Impact:

Riley went into Spring Training battling Johan Carmango for the starting third base gig. It was reported that whoever did not win the job would be sent to the minors, but both third basemen played well in the spring and are expected to make the roster. Once baseball picks back up, both players will resume competition for the hot corner. Riley is the favorite to win the job after slashing .333/.364/.667 across 22 plate appearances in Spring Training. If he can cut the strikeouts, Riley should win the battle and is a late-round flyer in all-league formats.
