Ryan Howard strikes out twice against the Rays

by Kerry Kauffman | Tue, Mar 17th 7:32pm EDT

The Phillies managed just 5 hits on Tuesday in their 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Ryan Howard, who homered in two of the last three games, struggled. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, as his average fell to .235 in Grapefruit League play.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard has been tinkering with a new batting stance this season in hopes to turn over his downward spiral over the past few seasons. Howard hit 23 home runs and knocked in 95 runs last season. Howard should still put up decent power numbers for a first baseman, but he's unlikely to elevate his game back to upper echelon status.
