Brett Gardner continues to struggle

by Chris Zolli | Sat, Mar 21st 3:32pm EDT

Brett Gardner was hitless again, 0-2 with two strikeouts, but did walk against the Astros. He is hitting .147 so far this spring.

Fantasy Impact:

Gardner's struggles have been well documented and batting at the top of the lineup has not helped. Jacoby Ellsbury's injury has allowed Gardner to move out of the second slot in the lineup, which the Yankees had hoped would kick start his spring, but he has struggled there as well. The Yankees may move him down in the lineup to seventh or eighth, where he has been successful before. Gardner has potential for a 20 home run/20 steal season, but he needs to get on base and show that his 17 home runs from 2014 were not a fluke.
