Brandon McCarthy

Brandon McCarthy not sharp again

by Stan Son | Sun, Mar 29th 9:54pm EDT

Brandon McCarthy had his second rough outing in a row Sunday against the Texas Rangers. In 5 2/3 innings pitched, McCarthy yielded three earned runs on seven hits. He walked two and struck out four. In 14 2/3 innings pitched this spring, McCarthy has compiled a 6.75 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and .328 AVG against.

Fantasy Impact:

Not a great spring for McCarthy. The good news is that he's still healthy and the Dodgers will be relying on him because of the Hyun-Jin Ryu injury. I still like him as a relatively cheap option as he's currently the #93 starting pitcher, but I would much rather have Taijuan Walker, who is the #97 pitcher.
