Ryan Howard's average dips to .175 this spring

by Kerry Kauffman | Tue, Mar 31st 7:42pm EDT

Ryan Howard continues to struggle at the plate, as he's has been tinkering with his batting stance this spring. Howard went 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. He walked twice and scored two runs, but has struck out 20 times in 63 at bats and has an OPS of under .600.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard's overall offensive production has been in a downward spiral since his Achilles injury a few years ago. He hit 23 home runs last season, but appears to have very little fantasy value at this stage of his career if he isn't hitting the long ball.
