Brandon McCarthy allowed two hits, one being a home run to David Freese of the Anaheim Angels, in three innings of work Friday night. He did not walk a batter and struck out one in his final tuneup before Opening Day.
Fantasy Impact:
McCarthy had a rough spring accumulating a 6.62 ERA but he is a great value play for the upcoming season. As the #97 starting pitcher off the board, there is little investment cost in a potential sub-3.00 ERA, 175 K, 1.20 WHIP, and double-digit win hurler.
