Carlos Gonzalez looks to regain All-Star form

by Bob Storch | Mon, Apr 6th 12:34am EDT

Carlos Gonzalez had a successful Spring Training. Coming into camp slimmed down (25 pounds lighter than last season) and strong, CarGo showed promised at the plate this spring hitting .310 in 42 AB. Except for some slight soreness, his surgically repaired left knee did not appear to be an issue. In 2010, Carlos won the NL batting title with a .336 average and hit 34 home runs. Now at 29 years old Carlos Gonzalez thinks he can top that this season. (Denver Post)

Fantasy Impact:

Carlos Gonzalez must stay healthy to regain his MVP-candidate form. With the Rockies on the road for 9 of their first 12 games it would be prudent to take a wait and see attitude with Gonzalez until Week 3 when the Rockies return home to Coors Field
