Rangers sign Wandy Rodriguez to minor league deal

Three days after being released by the Atlanta Braves, the Texas Rangers have signed veteran southpaw Wandy Rodriguez to a minor league deal. (rangersblog.dallasnews.com)

Under the heading "You can never have enough pitching," the Rangers inked the veteran Rodriguez to a deal and will send him to Triple-A Round Rock. With the amount of injuries the Rangers have sustained the past year or two, especially to the pitching staff, this signing is a no-brainer. Rodriguez was 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA for the Pirates last year before being released. The 10-year veteran has a career record of 91-94 with a 4.06 ERA.
