Glen Perkins gets unlikely save against Royals

by Matt Smith | Thu, Apr 16th 4:25pm EDT

Glen Perkins came in to close out the Twins' 8-5 victory against the Royals Thursday with one out in the ninth inning and a runner on first. It didn't look as if the closer's services would be needed as the Twins entered the inning with a five run lead, but Brian Duensing quickly gave up two runs and Perkins was given the opportunity for the save. He needed only five pitches to finish the job.

Fantasy Impact:

This is Perkins' second save in as many days against the Royals and he looks to have picked up right where he left off last year as a premier major-league closer. He has not allowed a baserunner in either of his save opportunities.
