The reigning AL Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber registered his 500th career strikeout but took the loss against the Royals. He was tagged for six runs (four earned) on 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out five.

Three fielding errors and just four hits from Indians' batters did not help Corey Kluber as he slumped to 0-3. In five games this season, he has allowed two home runs, seven walks, 16 earned runs and struck out 36. Before jumping ship, consider that in his first five games of last season, he allowed two home runs, six walks, 14 earned runs and struck out 30. He will look to register his first win of the season on Saturday against the Blue Jays.
