John Axford tosses scoreless ninth for 4th save

John Axford locked down his 4th save of the season in the Rockies 5-4 win over the Dodgers Thursday night. Carlos Gonzalez smashed a 3-run HR in the top of the ninth to put the Rockies ahead, and Axford preserved the victory with a scoreless inning. He struck out one, and yielded only a walk to Adrian Gonzalez.
Fantasy Impact:
Axford has been slightly held back as the Rox closer due to limited save opportunities. However, when he has had the opportunity, he has made the most of it. Now 4-for-4 in save situations with a solid 1.29 ERA, Axford is certainly seizing his resurgence opportunity in Colorado. Fantasy owners in need of closer help should look his way as he is still owned in only 54% of fantasy leagues.
