Manny Machado shines in home coming

by James McGowan | Padres Correspondent | Sat, May 23rd 12:14am EDT

On Friday, Manny Machado played great on both sides of the diamond, in the Orioles 8-5 win over the Marlins. Machado went three for four, with four RBI, a double, and two singles. Machado is now hitting .279 in 139 plate appearances, with six home runs, and 19 RBI this season. (Baltimore Orioles Official Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Machado had a great game returning to his birthplace of Miami. Macahdo not only had a great night offensively, but he also made a great diving stop to get the final out of the sixth inning and helping the Orioles preserve their 6-4 lead at the time. Machado has looked very good, over the last few games seeming to gain more confidence at the plate leading to more production. After kind of a slow start for Machado he seems to be hitting his stride at the perfect time of the season. I would pick him up now, before someone else grabs him and he gets really hot. If he can continue this he will be on track for another great year.
