Carlos Frias gets pummeled

by Stan Son | Sun, May 24th 5:31pm EDT

The San Diego Padres took out their frustrations, of getting one-hit by Mike Bolsinger last night, on Carlos Frias Sunday. They tallied 12 hits (2 home runs with one being a grand slam) and scored 10 earned runs in four innings. 47-of-69 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

Frias had a 2 ERA coming into the game. He now sports a 5+ ERA. As we saw with Bolsinger last night, it's all about location, location, location. Frias possesses explosive stuff but major league hitters will tee off when pitches aren't located well. Chalk this game up to one of those days. Frias has shown he's mentally tough and should be able to rebound. Last year, he got lit up in Colorado and was able to shrug it off. Frias could be useful in a spot-start but he is now the number five starter for the Dodgers. He would probably be the first one out of the rotation if a trade is made for another pitcher.
