Bartolo Colon bounces back after a rough outing

by James McGowan | Tue, May 26th 12:51am EDT

On Monday, Bartolo Colon was impressive as the Mets beat the Phillies to break a six game losing streak. Colon went six innings, giving up three runs on six hits, while striking out six, and walking only two. Colon was also impressive at the plate hitting a line drive single. (MLB)

Fantasy Impact:

Colon bounced back after a horrendous outing against the cardinals, where he gave up 9 runs in 4 1/3. But on Sunday Colon'c control was back and he looked like the dominate pitcher that he has been all season. Colon now has 52 strikeouts this season and only 5 walks. With his control back, Colon becomes a dangerous pitcher again. He also shows that age is just a number, Colon who is now 42 years old is 7-3 this season, with a 4.82 ERA. If you still can I would try and trade for him, he's an older guy and is prone to off nights. But Colon will be a good starting rotation guy for a team that is struggling.
