Michael Morse (finger) sent to DL

by Jonathan Ebanks | Tue, May 26th 2:55pm EDT

A sprained right ring finger forced the Marlins to place first baseman Michael Morse on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 24.

Fantasy Impact:

Rookie Justin Bour has filled in for Michael Morse since the last time he played on May 21. It's not fully clear how much of his benching was due to the Marlins' preference for Bour or the finger injury. After hitting .303 with an OPS of .874 and 19 dingers in 117 Triple-A games, Bour has continued to do well in the majors, despite being someone who few initially thought had Major League potential. Morse, in comparison, has only hit .211 with an OPS of .557 and two homers in 37 games this season, after signing a two-year $16 million deal in the offseason.
