Jonathon Niese struggles agianst the Marlins

by James McGowan | Sun, May 31st 12:47am EDT

The Mets lost to the Marlins 9-5 on Saturday. Niese went four innings, striking out three, and walking none. Neise gave up 5 runs, 4 earned runs, on seven hits, and two home runs. Niese earned a no decision in the game, as the Mets stormed back before the Marlins took the game in the later innings. (MLB)

Fantasy Impact:

Neise's struggles has have spanned four games. He has not won since may ninth, and has struggled to go deep into games. Since May ninth, Niese's ERA has spiked from 1.95, to 4.42 in the four games. Niese's struggles are a cause for concern, he has struggled to be consistent and right now doesn't look all that confident on the mound. Niese's record really reflects his performance this season, his is 3-5 with two no decisions. It might be time to look for a replacement for Niese, and if you are looking for a good middle rotation guy Rick Porcello would be a great pickup. Porcello has struggled in his last few outing but will look to bounce back in his next start. But if you need to keep Niese for some odd reason, I would hope that he can turn it around soon. Because as of right now, he looks like he is lacking confidence on the mound and it will be interesting to see what they do with him.
