Baltimore Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy was sidelined for Monday's lineup due to soreness in his left side that he first felt on Sunday, according to Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com. Hardy hopes this will not put him back on the DL list. (Baltimore Orioles)

According to Ghiroli, any type of side soreness can signal an oblique injury, which is a common injury landing players on the DL list. Hardy started the season on DL list and has played only 23 games so far. He is not a good starter for now. Somewhat injury prone.
