C.J. Wilson strikes out seven in losing effort

by Jamison Malasko | Wed, Jun 3rd 9:23am EDT

Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson struck out seven, but was not at his best in Tuesday's loss to the Rays, dropping to 3-4 on the season. Wilson allowed a two-run home run to Logan Forsythe and surrendered three additional runs in the sixth before he was pulled. He was charged with five earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings of a 6-1 defeat. Of his 97 pitches, 59 were strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

Wilson might not have had his best stuff Tuesday but even his best stuff might not have been good enough against Chris Archer and his 15 strikeouts. Wilson's ERA has ballooned from 2.63 to 3.18 over his last three starts. He will make his next start Tuesday at Tampa Bay.
