Don Mattingly clarifies Andre Ethier's role going forward

by Eric Westlund | Wed, Jun 3rd 8:02pm EDT

Once Yasiel Puig returns as the Dodgers' every-day right fielder, Andre Ethier will move into a lefty/righty platoon in left field, according to manager Don Mattingly. Ethier will start against right-handed starting pitchers, and Alex Guerrero and Scott Van Slyke will handle the platoon's weaker side. (Mark Saxon of ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Ethier is batting .298 / .383 / .532 with seven home runs 50 games and should have been picked up in all fantasy leagues by now, though his value will take a hit next week. Most fantasy owners should feel free to move on if there are full-time players with higher upside available on the waiver wire, but Ethier should continue to provide a great batting average and solid counting stats to owners in need of outfield help.
