Brett Anderson pitches well but takes the loss

by Stan Son | Sat, Jun 6th 2:06am EDT

Brett Anderson was humming along until the Cardinals got to him for two earned runs in the eighth inning to take a 2-1 lead. He ended up going 7.2 innings, allowed four hits, walked three, and struck out five. 56-of-88 pitches were thrown for strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

Really tough loss for Anderson. Pitch count was low and he kept the Cardinals at bay for most of the game. He's now pitched four quality starts in a row and hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a game since April 21, when he gave up four to the Giants. Hopefully the injury bug doesn't bite him again this year, because he's definitely become a solid back-end fantasy option.
