Fernando Rodney entered the ninth inning with the score tied at zero and promptly gave up a lead-off home run to Logan Forsythe. That would be the only run of the game as the Rays beat the Mariners 1-0.
Fantasy Impact:
Although manager Lloyd McClendon said he is sticking with Rodney as his closer earlier in the week, he cannot continue to cost Seattle ball games. With a 2-3 record and more importantly an astronomical 6.94 ERA the days as the Mariners closer could be numbered for Fernando. Monitor Seattle's bullpen situation closely as there could be some changes on the horizon.
