Matt Wieters sat out Wednesday's game against Boston. He is not back up to being able to play back-to-back days behind the plate but is producing when he plays.
Fantasy Impact:
Wieters is an elite player at catcher when he is healthy. It is too soon to know whether his high average from part of a season last year and a few games this season will become the new norm. If his average stays high and he stays healthy, he is a top-5 candidate at catcher. Those able to make daily lineup decision should keep an eye out for the games he sits out and have a decent backup option in place.
