Manny Machado starting to heat up

by James McGowan | Padres Correspondent | Sat, Jun 13th 10:50pm EDT

On Saturday, the Orioles beat the Yankees 9-4 in the second game of their weekend series. Manny Machado was one of the many players that helped contribute to the Orioles offense. Machado went 3-5, with a home run, and four RBI.

Fantasy Impact:

This season Machado is hitting .275 in 230 at bats, with 11 home runs, and 30 RBI, he also has an OPS of .802. Manny Machado has been heating up as of late, he has two home runs in his last three, and has been getting on base more consistently. This season has been a tough one for Machado, who has been hot and cold this season at the plate. But his defense has not suffered, Machado is still the gold glove caliber third baseman that he has always been and it is just his offense that is struggling. But this could be a good sign for Machado, who has seemed to find his power lately and is starting to make more contact at key points in the game. Machado would be a good third base pick up for any team that needs to fill that hole. The biggest problem would be his consistency, but it seems that he is starting to pick it up and he can only get better from here in. I would pick him up before it's too late, he can really help a struggling team. It'll be interesting to see what Machado will look like at the all-star break, and beyond.
