Evan Longoria blasts 3-run shot off Kluber

Evan Longoria swatted a 3-run home run off reigning Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber on Saturday, resulting in a 4-1 victory over the Indians. (mlb.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Longoria has seen his power numbers drop this year, as he's only had two home runs over the last 37 games. That puts him on pace for 14 on the season. He's been hampered by a left wrist injury, which surely is a catalyst for the lack of power, but it didn't matter on Saturday. After Indians ace Corey Kluber started off the game walking Kevin Kiermaier, and allowing a single to Joey Butler, Evan Longoria stepped to the plate. After bringing the count to 2-2, Longoria launched a fastball into the left field seats to put the Indians in an early 3-0 hole. The homer was Longoria's 7th of the season. He's currently hitting .273/.350/.416 with 32 runs scored, 32 RBI, and a stolen base. He's no longer an elite third baseman fantasy wise, but he's still top-10.
