Addison Reed optioned to Triple-A Reno

by Tony Pontecorvo | Mon, Jun 22nd 4:40pm EDT

The Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned former closer Addison Reed to Triple-A Reno. Reed was removed from the closer's role earlier this season after saving 32 games in 2014, his first season with Arizona. At the time of his demotion, Reed had a 5.92 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched, with 20 strikeouts and 11 walks. (MLB Trade Rumors)

Fantasy Impact:

It often wasn't pretty last season with Reed, but the 32 saves and 10.5K/9 made him an attractive late-round closer candidate in fantasy circles. This season it has been downright ugly as things have gone from bad to worse since being removed from the closer's role. Even in the deepest leagues or dynasty leagues, it is probably time to cut bait if you haven't already.
