Matt Wieters gets home run number three

by James McGowan | Thu, Jun 25th 11:32pm EDT

On Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Boston Red Sox 8-6. During the game catcher Matt Wieters hit his third home run of the season, while knocking in two RBI, and striking out once.

Fantasy Impact:

Wieters has been pretty good since coming back from Tommy John surgery early this month. Wieters is hitting .292, with three home runs, and 10 RBI, with an OPS of .925. Wieters has provided a shot in the butt to an Orioles offense that was struggling greatly before he returned to the line-up. Wieters would bring any team a solid catcher that can produce for your team, and will get on base a few time during games. It's a good sign that Wieters has come back so strong, many doubted that he would be the same after the surgery but it looks like he has come back strong. It has been good to watch Wieters come back and look strong, and we will see what he looks like as the season progresses.
